Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men..
wow. we are the salt of the earth. salt is irritating, it hurts, and alone is not the most tasteful. but if salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? if salt, or if we, loose that “irritating factor” and find its easy to be around the world without it being irritated or not wanting to be around us. wherewith shall it be salted ? what good are we then ? we have become just another normal thing. see i think this illustration of salt is perfect. we are suppose to irritate. because flesh and spirit do not get along. they do not go well together. ever since the garden. when the Lord said he will put enmity between her side and thy seed. what he meant was between his seed. which is the new born again. holy spirit etc. and the old dead works and sinful seed. enmity. a forever battle. salt has to be irritating or it is not salt. what good is it ? but to be cast out and trodden under the foots of men. wow. meaning its good for nothing and will do nothing, but be thrown to the ground and stepped on.
salt irritates. the more salty= the better. the world should not want be around you unless the holy spirit is at work. the world should find you annoying and think you are silly or dumb for what you believe. at times there are those who are respectful. and those people i believe are directly put in your life for a reason. others we are meant to be salty.

do you read the word? do you go to church? do you have a good guard on your toungue? do you keep your thoughts clean? do you study the word and try your best to apply it? are you genuine? do you associate with good crowd? is Christ the center of each thought and action?
these are some pretty deep soul searching questions. been thinking alot about them tonight. all of which most can honestly genuinely say yes i do. which is great. i want to take this further. doing all of these things is one thing. but are you doing them in your strength and knowledge? or in the holy spirit? entirely different. see cuz we can do all these things but if they are in the flesh or are acts of the flesh. we accomplish nothing. when i say do you associate with good crowd. i know that we are called to minister to the worst. to love all people. so by default many assume that hanging out with non christians or doing whatever is totally cool. but believe me when i say, if that is the reasoning( the bible saying Jesus hung out with the worst) then it is wrong. because if we are doing it in the flesh, yes the holy spirit may show us what someone needs, a friend who is down the wrong path- may need us. and God may be showing us how they need us or what to do. but if we take that beginning step that the holy spirit gives us. and try to finish it with our knowledge, example being God showing us, oh this person needs this poured into there life in this area. and we say okay Lord, then we in our own knowledge figure out ways to do so. we really arent doing much. we are just associating. but when we have the holy spirit show us, then we let the holy spirit lead us in the follow through. then we have power.
every once in a while i think its a great idea to do a self examination. talk to God, hey Lord am i actually doing things in my knowledge? or am i really trying to do your will but the best way i know how? if so, we need to learn how to follow in order to lead.
someone i am so thankful for being in my life. and so blessed to have. had a conversation with me today. and it was a good one !
we talked about many many things, a few of which really stand out to me. and have been thinking alot about them. the Bible speaks of one day even God will divide the fat cattle from the lean cattle. the are so many “fat” cattles today. and even more “lean” see a fat cattle takes all the food, eats everything and tramples the ground around. these would be defined by ones who fill up on church programs, ministries, the word, music, etc. fill fill fill- like needing a constant spiritual high. but what it really is, is filling up and getting fat. but also taking opportunity and food from the lean who need it. this happens when many “fat” people are present. maybe in a church, or local community. someone who is needing to be fed. to be discipled. to grow. they get shot down, or are shown something false. and out of the selfishness and lack of spiritual growth of the fat, alot of lean people suffer and “die” cuz someone who is hungry, and needs food. needs good ground to walk on, and rich food to eat. not junk food or trampled ground. i asked myself today. am i being one of these so called fat cattles? am i taking what i learn and just keeping it to myself and only half applying it yet not really doing anything? and preach when i feel like it ? i think we all are guilty of this at some point. we need to be led by God, and have the holy spirit guide us and teach us. so that we may shine. and not have to constantly need recharging or re fueling. the lean need the true word. and the fat need excersize and fat cutting. discipline and the holy spirit. perfect combinations. time for some excersize
